Chief Coach

The Founder of Swim For India Academy, he is very passionate about competitive swimming in India.

Coach Jitender Tokas is a certified WSI (American Red Cross); Swimming coaching diploma from NSNIS India; Certified Aquatics Director from aquatics partners (American Swimming Coaching Association); and ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) Coach with 15 years of experience including Head Coach of American Embassy School; he was chief Coach at the Delhi Public School, R. K. Puram in Delhi; he was chief coach/President at the BGN Sports Club in Delhi; and Coach at the Swim Fast Swim Team, Florida, USA.

He is also an certified coach from Austswim teacher of swimming and water safety, Australia, New Zealand swimming teachers association, New Zealand, FINA golden coaches clinic, China, Canada & Doha.

Coach Jitender has coaches all levels of swimmers from the novice to the International medalist, including 2 Deaf Olympians (most recently Atul Jaiswal) and trained many National and International Swimmers for Commonwealth Games, Deaf Olympics, Asian Games, World Championships, etc. With his great wealth of experience, Coach Jitender has served as a Delhi National Team Coach for several swimming championships; and served as an International Technical Official in Commonwealth Games in Delhi 2010.


Head Age Group Coach

Coach Somender Tokas is an extremely diligent and capable with swimmers. He was swimming competitively since the young age of 6. He was a gold medalist in the national championship and represented India in International championship.

Dedicated and committed swim coach with 16 years of coaching experience. Working with young swimmers to improve technique allowing them to train on at a higher level with great personal achievement.

At present, Somender is working as a Physical Education Teacher at the Modern School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. He is also the Chief Swimming Coach of Modern School. He coaches the high performance squad at Modern School where he oversees the talent identification and coach development at the school.

Being a member of American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) he develops his coaching career by attending international clinics, seminars in the US and seeking further coaching credentials.

Age group coach

Coach Vijay comes from a very diverse background of swimming that includes six years of competitive swimming. His experience as a competitive swimmer informs his ability to motivate experienced swimmers successfully.

As a competitive coach, Vijay’s swimmers have been consistently successful.

As a coach, Vijay is passionate about developing work ethic in his young athletes, as well as a commitment to discipline and participation. He believes that enjoyment of the process is the key to success for any athlete and any level.

Away from swimming, he is currently in his final year of masters in Physical Education. He is also a certified yoga instructor.
